Greeting From the Bishop

It is with great joy that I open the web-site for the Diocese of Kamloops.

I am placing this site under the protection of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, our principal patroness.

I hope that as you work your way through this site you may learn about the Church in this area of British Columbia - the priests and people, the parishes and activities. And hopefully you will want to come and see us sometime!

Our secondary patron, Saint John Marie Vianney, using the means he had in his time, spent his life as a parish priest showing the people of his parish the way to God and I hope that the messages and information we present through this web-site will help you and others to come to know, love and serve God.

At this time please keep in your prayers the repose of the soul of Monsignor John MacIntyre who died on May 30, 2008, at the hour of Divine Mercy on the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.  Please see his obituary below - by scrolling down.

Yours in Christ,

Most Reverend David J. Monroe
Bishop of Kamloops
