BC State of Emergency Calls for Evacuations
July 10, 2017
The B.C. Government has declared a provincial state of emergency as numerous fires across the province are buring out of control. Several communities have been evacuated in the Kamloops diocese including Cache Creek, 100 Mile House, and Williams Lake. Highway closures will also affect the priests' ability to travel to mission churches throughout the diocese. Please check with Drive BC for highway closures.
Please pray for the safety of evacuees, livestock, and property in the affected areas as well as the firefighting crews and everyone helping in the evacuation and relief efforts.
