A Call to Prayer for Pope Leo XIV
Dear Fathers, Deacons, Consecrated Religious, and Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
I invite our diocesan family to unite with the universal Church in prayer for the recovery of our Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV, following his successful surgery on October 13, 2026. We are grateful to the medical team caring for him and pray for his continued healing.
As a diocesan family united in faith and love, let us surround the Holy Father with our prayers and spiritual support. I ask our priests and deacons to remember him in the Prayers of the Faithful at Mass, and I encourage our religious communities and all the faithful to offer the Rosary and personal prayers for his healing, strength, and full recovery.
Let us also remember all the sick, their families, and those who care for them. May the Blessed Virgin Mary, Health of the Sick, and Saint Joseph intercede for our Holy Father and bring him comfort, peace, and hope.
United in prayer, let us entrust Pope Leo XIV to the loving care of Christ, the Divine Physician.
With prayerful best wishes and every blessing in Christ,
Joseph Phuong Nguyen
Bishop of Kamloops
