Invitation to Prayer and Fasting for Peace
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
In communion with the Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV, we are invited to observe Friday, August 22, the Feast of the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary, as a day of prayer and fasting for peace.
As Mary, Queen of Peace, intercedes for us, let us unite our hearts in prayer for an end to war and for healing in the Holy Land, Ukraine, and all places torn by violence. Together, let us implore the Lord to grant peace, justice, and consolation to all who suffer.
May our prayers and sacrifices hasten the coming of God’s peace in our world.

In the Bollettino dated 20 August 2025, the Holy See informed that Pope Leo XIV announced a Day of Fasting and Prayer for Peace to be practiced on 22 August 2025, the Liturgical Memorial of the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
